I will Not be Silenced
This series is dedicated to the people of the Middle East who are speaking up for their freedom and rights. Uprisings stirred by the youth, are the inspiration for this series which is loosely reminiscent of comic book imagery. Also referenced, are the elements of social media that were instrumental in igniting and facilitating the uprisings, especially in Tunisia and Egypt.
Use of the Kufic geometric script in this series alludes to the identity of the arab world.This script forms the background of each of the paintings in this series, highlighting the force of the message each work contains.
