Sunken Republic
This series can be interpreted as both a lament and a warning. It recognizes the legacy of democratic institutions as fragile, easily consumed by the tides of power when left unguarded. Yet, amid the dissolution, there are bursts of color—small illuminations that hint at resistance, resilience, or the possibility of rebirth. The presence of serpents, skeletal remains, and falling bodies underscores not only collapse but also the cycles of history, where decay precedes regeneration. The canvases thus operate on both a political and existential plane, urging the viewer to confront what is lost and to imagine what must emerge.
